  • What if I am a resident of Quebec?

    If you are a resident of Quebec, you may still conduct transactions at our branches outside Quebec. However, if you are physically in Quebec at the time of the transaction, unfortunately we cannot serve you, as we are not registered in Quebec.

  • If you are exchanging cash equal to or exceeding CAD 2,000, you will need to provide government-issued photo identification.

  • KAPU does not cash travelers’ cheques in any currency.

  • Due to strict global compliance requirements, KAPU does not accept any foreign currency drafts.

  • KAPU does not accept third-party CAD cheques.

  • KAPU does not add any extra service fees to our posted exchange rates.

  • Sorry, KAPU does not currently handle any form of cryptocurrency transactions.

  • Yes, KAPU offers both phone and online consultation services. Our professional team is always ready to assist you.

  • Our regular store hours are Monday to Friday from 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Our online service hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM, and Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Please note that hours may vary on public holidays; we recommend contacting us in advance to confirm.

  • While walk-ins are welcome, we recommend booking in advance by phone or online to ensure the best service and to reduce wait times, especially for large transactions or special requirements.

  • Currently, KAPU primarily accepts cash, Email Money Transfers, and bank transfers. Credit card payments are generally not available for currency exchange—please contact us to confirm payment options.

  • Our rates are transparently inclusive of costs, and typically there are no hidden service fees. Some small-value transfers or special services may incur a modest fee; please ask our counter staff or customer service for details.

  • Yes. KAPU supports transfers to China via UnionPay, WeChat Pay, and Alipay services to securely send funds. Please contact us to learn about specific requirements and procedures.

  • Most cash exchanges can be completed within minutes. Electronic transfers and international wire transfers may require 1–2 business days, depending on bank processing times and destination countries.

  • We strictly comply with Canada’s anti-money laundering regulations (PCMLTFA) and FINTRAC requirements, using industry-standard encryption and data protection measures to safeguard client information and funds.

To comply with Canadian laws, international sanctions, and KAPU’s internal compliance policies, we do not process transactions that directly or indirectly involve certain high-risk or sanctioned jurisdictions (“Restricted Countries”). These currently include: Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Angola, Bahrain, Barbados, Belarus, Bolivia, Botswana, British Virgin Islands, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cayman Islands, Central African Republic, Cuba, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Gibraltar, Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Laos (The Lao People’s Democratic Republic), Lebanon, Libya, Mauritius, Monaco, Morocco, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Nicaragua, Oman, Pakistan, Panama, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Uganda, Ukraine (Crimea Region and occupied regions—Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia), United Arab Emirates, Venezuela, Yemen, and Zimbabwe.
